My goal is to get to a Battle of Waterloo reenactment in Belgium. The 200th anniversary was in 2015. I taught a university course on the Battle of Waterloo. Ironically, after defeating Boney in the Napoleonic Wars, the Brits thought they were invincible. Obviously, the War of 1812 was their opportunity to try to regain all the ground they lost in the American Revolution. I agree, the aging really lends itself to this image. As a civil war medical re-enactor (hospital surgeon), I spent many hours behind artillery and infantry in the field. Your photograph gives the spectator an opportunity to "see the elephant." Terrific job, Doug!
